FRIDAY NIGHT MOVIE REVIEW: Last night I got to see a movie titled “Homefront” which stars Jason Statham (The Italian Job, The Transporter), James Franco (Spider-Man, This is the End), Izabela Vidovic (Because These Kids Are…, Zombieland (2013)), Kate Bosworth (Superman Returns, 21), Marcus Hester (Looper, Lawless), Clancy Brown (Lost, SpongeBob SquarePants), Winona Ryder (Edward Scissorhands, Black Swan), Omar Benson Miller (The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, CSI: Miami), Rachelle Lefevre (Twilight, White House Down), and Frank Grillo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Warrior). This movie is about a former DEA agent named Phil Broker (Statham) who moves to a quiet town with his daughter to run away from his former life after his wife passed away. After a while living there, a drug kingpin named Morgan “Gator” Bodine (Franco) gets word of what happened with Broker and a job that went wrong, costing the life of a biker gang boss’s son after busting a meth deal. Bodine uses this to his advantage and tells the biker gang’s boss that he will tell him where he lives if he distributes his meth. From there on out, Phil has to battle a biker gang and protect his daughter before they kill them both. I thought the movie was alright. The acting was fair and the story was okay. I thought that Jason Statham could’ve acted better though. The cons of this movie are the abundance of cuss words (especially the f-bomb), the acting, and it felt like it was missing something. Other than that the movie was average. FINAL SCORE: 73%= Juicy Popcorn
