“Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen”

BONUS MOVIE REVIEW: With the first “Transformers” movie reviewed, up next is the sequel in the trilogy entitled “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” which stars Shia LaBeouf (Disturbia, Lawless), Megan Fox (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014), This is 40), Josh Duhamel (Safe Haven, Ramona and Beezus), Tyrese Gibson (Death Race, 2 Fast 2 Furious), John Turturro (O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Anger Management), Ramon Rodriguez (Battle Los Angeles, Need for Speed), Kevin Dunn(Jobs, Warrior), Julie White (War of the Worlds, Michael Clayton), Isabel Lucas (Red Dawn (2012), Immortals), and John Benjamin Hickey (Flags of Our Fathers, The Bone Collector). Time has passed since the last movie, Sam (LaBeouf) heads to college to start a fresh way of life with Mikaela (Fox) by his side and everything is going great. But great things don’t last for long when the Decepticons come back again to claim pieces of the Allspark to lead them to the key to activate a hidden alien machine that will take away Earth’s sun for power. Sam finds a piece of the Allspark in his jacket from the last battle and after he touches it, symbols from it get imprinted into his mind of where the key is and a bunch of other knowledge. Now the Decepticons want Sam to locate the key, but that’s not all they want. They want him to lead them to Optimus Prime to kill him so that the Decepticons leader known as The Fallen can come to Earth to take hold of the alien machine since he can only be beaten by a Prime like he was the last time he was on Earth (giving the movie its name). It is up to Sam, Mikaela, a college friend named Leo (Rodriguez), ex-agent Simmons (Turturro), Major Lennox (Duhamel) and his army men, and the Autobots to stop the Decepticons from reaching the key to the machine. I thought that the movie was good for a sequel, but of course it isn’t as good as the first one. I liked the story, the action, the visual effects, and the acting. I also saw that it had a lot more humor than the first one. Cons of this movie would be of how they basically tried to throw history of the Transformers in a very short way that gave little time to explain things. Another would be that Optimus barely had screen time in this movie. Other than those, this movie was good and I recommend this to anyone who has seen the first one. FINAL SCORE: 79%= Juicy Popcorn
