FRIDAY NIGHT MOVIE REVIEW: I am terribly sorry for the late review, but I am here doing it now! The movie I watched on Friday is called “Need for Speed” which stars Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad, Mission Impossible III), Dominic Cooper (Captain America: The First Avenger, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter), Imogen Poots (28 Weeks Later, V for Vendetta), Scott Mescudi (The Amazing Spider-Man 2, 30 Minutes or Less), Rami Malek (Night at the Museum, Short Term 12), Ramon Rodriguez (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Gang Related), Harrison Gilbertson (Haunt, Beneath Hill 60), Dakota Johnson (21 Jump Street [film], The Social Network), Stevie Ray Dallimore (Ender’s Game, American Reunion), and Michael Keaton (Robocop [2014], Beetlejuice). This movie follows a car mechanic named Tobey Marshall (Paul) who gets pulled into a job by his ex-partner, Dino (Cooper) to fix a very awesome car because he needs the money for his mechanic shop since his father passed away. After him and his team of buddies, Benny (Mescudi), Finn (Malek), Joe (Rodriguez), and Pete (Gilbertson), get the job down and sell the car Dino decides to take Tobey and Pete out to race him on the streets because of how Pete thinks Tobey can beat him. When they race in really expensive cars, Tobey seems to have already beat Dino as they come up on a bridge (near the finish line) with Pete keeping Dino from advancing to Tobey. All goes wrong though when Dino knocks the back of Pete’s car, causing him to wreck off the bridge and die from the car’s explosion. Tobey stops where is to go to his friend who is like a brother to him, while Dino drives away like nothing happened. The police think Tobey did it and he was sentenced to jail for two years only to come out wanting revenge on what happened to Pete. So now he must get to California with the help of his friends to try to get in a race called The DeLeon which is a risky race that Dino is going to be apart of. Tobey hopes that he can avenge Pete’s death and go on to win the prize money. I thought this movie was fairly good. I thought the story was fine, the acting was good, the action was fantastic, the cars looked amazing, and it was great at how they didn’t CGI any of the scenes in the movie. Cons of it would be how it dragged in the middle and how I was still having Jesse Pinkman in my mind when I saw Aaron Paul act in this film. Overall this movie did good for me and I thought that it was just a little better than “The Fast and the Furious!!!!” FINAL SCORE: 78%= Juicy Popcorn
