It is directed by Joss Whedon (Toy Story, Buffy the Vampire Slayer [TV series]). The Avengers are back: Iron Man (Downey Jr.), Captain America (Evans), Thor (Hemsworth), the Hulk (Ruffalo), Black Widow (Johansson), and Hawkeye (Renner) in this ultimate sequel to the beloved “The Avengers” movie and also the eleventh entry of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Everything is going smooth as things should with the Avengers cleaning up after S.H.I.E.L.D.’s fall. It is until Tony Stark aka Iron Man gets a genius idea after discovering something in a HYDRA base: Artificial Intelligence. Aided by Bruce Banner aka the Hulk, they created the Artificial Intelligence they’ve dreamed of, known as Ultron. But not all things go as they plan in this universe. The intelligence they created to protect the world has come to realize that the only way for the earth to survive is with human extinction. In order for him to carry out his plan, he must first get rid of the team that is trying to stop him…The Avengers!
I have been waiting so long for this movie and now that I have, I can honestly say that it was worth the wait. What makes the Avengers so amazing is the chemistry between all of the characters. They throw jokes or insults at each other and they just work so well with one another that it is fun to watch. The story was great, and it will glue your eyes to the scene because of how pumped up you are of seeing your favorite heroes fight bad guys and have fun doing it. The acting was great as well, with everyone doing a fantastic job at portraying their characters. You get to see your favorite Avengers come back, along with other heroes from the several other Marvel movies and you also get some new people. Since the first Avengers movie established who they are, this one gives a deeper look into all of their past and, boy, was it well-needed. I really like how Hawkeye had a bigger role and you also got to see a glimpse into who he really is and of his importance. You also get to see more of Black Widow’s back story as well. The action scenes are spectacular, which are full of CGI and crazy ways to beat up people which make you just feel epic watching it. Along with this movie is comedy, which will make you laugh throughout. It also had one of the best Stan Lee cameos that I’ve seen in a Marvel movie! The new characters, whether hero or foe, are really good. After seeing it, I can say that Vision is one of my favorite characters now. Every scene that he’s in is just too good. Along with this movie are some issues. One will be how there are some parts that can be left out. One that comes to mind is Thor seeking what his dream was about. Although it explained some stuff about the infinity stones and is a hint at what’s to come in “Thor: Ragnarok”, it really didn’t fit with the dilemma at hand. Another con would be Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. I thought their characters were good overall, but it took until almost the end of the movie for them to serve a real purpose. Other than some essential scenes with Scarlet Witch, most of their early scenes made them feel like filler characters. And finally, the last con would be how Ultron’s growing power felt rushed. I thought I would see a build up of him getting stronger, but really he evolved to a powerful form in just ten minutes since he was created and it took until the end of the movie for him to actually start to tear apart the Earth. Overall, this movie is definitely in the top five of my Marvel movies and it did great justice to the original Avengers movie. You definitely have to see this one in theaters because it is a blast and you will just feel better about yourself walking out! FINAL SCORE: 87%= Juicy Popcorn
