DECEMBER MOVIE RANKINGS:

The final month of the year, December sees which film will be the final candidate for the Juicy Awards. This was a fun month as I was able to review some Coen brothers releases as well as the new Star Wars film. Now all that is left for this year is the awards in January. Read on and enjoy!

december 1

#9- “No Escape” (2015)
68%= Burnt Popcorn
Pros: Realistic in its gruesomeness, good acting, and entertaining.
Cons: Characters are dull, the conflict itself has no deep reasoning to it, and the editing style can be distracting at times.

#8- “Self/Less”
75%= Juicy Popcorn
Pros: Interesting concept, very good acting, and cool action scenes.
Cons: Very predictable and little character development.

december 2

#5- “Blood Simple”
85%= Juicy Popcorn
Pros: Great first attempt by Coen brothers, interesting story, thrilling, awesome directing, great acting, and haunting scenes.

#4- “Jingle All the Way”
86%= Juicy Popcorn
Pros: Hilarious, solid acting for a comedy, different story, cool action scenes, and fun.

#3- “The Good Dinosaur”
87%= Juicy Popcorn
Pros: Stellar animation, good voice acting, funny, has some adult humor, nice characters, and a fun story.
Cons: Fast pacing can make the story jumbled and the comparison of real backgrounds and cartoonish characters can be distracting.

#2- “Southpaw”
90%= Juicy Popcorn
Pros: Amazing acting, has some original elements to worn story, cool fighting scenes, and some scenes can make my eyes water.
Cons: There is a lot of cussing and the story of boxing has a lot of been-there-done-that qualities.

december 5

#2- “Miller’s Crossing”

94%= Juicy Popcorn
Pros: Great revival, amazing special effects, great acting, fun adventure, fantastic characters, great music score, and it makes me feel good inside.

Juicy Hall of Fame Inductee“Fargo” (1996)
95%= Juicy Popcorn
Pros: Engaging dialogue, interesting characters, amazing story, gruesome scenes, and phenomenal acting.
