As I narrowed down the candidates to two people, it was incredibly hard to choose. I spent almost a week trying to figure out the winner of this award, and what got Jake Gyllenhaal to take it home for his fantastic performance on “Nightcrawler” was how he was the answer to my last-resort question: “who would I regret the most in not giving this award to?” Brilliant work Jake, your performance will be remembered for many years to come!
