NOVEMBER MOVIE RANKINGS:
I’ve apologized enough on this site for my tardiness in posts. Finals week at college was killer, it’s now over. Hopefully more reviews will arrive. Until then, here is the 2017 November rankings.
#3- “Thor: Ragnarok”
87%= Juicy Popcorn
Pros: Great cinematography, beautiful shots, epic montage sequences, funny, good acting, entertaining, and awesome action sequences.
Cons: Thor shouldn’t have been portrayed as a bumbling buffoon (the cinematic universe already established him as a more serious character) and the villain could’ve been developed more.
#2- “Silver Linings Playbook”
92%= Juicy Popcorn
Pros: Original, unpredictable (except for the ending), fantastic performances, good score, and heavily engaging dialogue.
Cons: The ending was predictable and cheesy.
#1- “Road to Perdition”
93%= Juicy Popcorn
Pros: Spectacular performances, great cinematography, gripping action scenes, wonderful score, and an interesting story altogether.
Cons: The first act took a while to build momentum.
November 2017 has crowned its victor: “Road to Perdition.” It will face off against “La La Land,” “The Fall” (2006), “Arrival,” “Midnight in Paris,” “Moana,” “Lion,” “A Monster Calls,” “Young Frankenstein,” “Watchmen,” “War for the Planet of the Apes,” “Close Encounters of the Third Kind,” “Get the Gringo,” and the winner of December to decide what film will become the next Movie of the Year.
